@gm88... No, it's not a habit to eat sugar gm, it's an addiction! And a real one, just like caffeine, smoking or drugs are an addiction!!! Sugars have more effects on the body than just energywise, they also have a clear conjunction with certain hormones that are related to addiction. So eating sugar is an addiction that you need to get away from. Maybe they should have rehab clinics for sugar addicts, lol :-) I used to be addicted to it too, eating chocolate every morning, a snickers every day, just like any other person. I quit from it day by day, and now the though of eating candy or something like that just kinda disgusts me. So to me I don't feel I'm missing out on anything. For me what I do is normal, just as what you do seems normal to you. I often feel sorry for those telling me "do you know what your are missing?", when I think the same thing for them: "do YOU know what you are missing?". |

About John Stone.. Talking about this picture.. ![]() In my humble opinion the guy doesn't look healthy _at all_ there. His fat % is way too low for a full-grown man. He looks damned skinny and to me, the hard work doesn't show all that well there. The way he looks now, is as far as I think more healthy.. Since he's eating more natural and normal than in the period he was only losing weight More recent picture: ![]() |

@ Watchout... It is true that the way he looks there is unhealthy. But also consider that it is a very momentary state. It's not possible to remain that way, nor it is his intention. The way I was in was not super healthy either, but it's like that for only 1 day, 2 days later the difference is huge. |

its about learing from your misstake, that guy never trained in his whole life, his first ambition was to loose weight( ofcourse), then after that, build up muscles and gain weight,( to get bigger) the way he looks now, better indeed except the fact that he has shaved/waxed every single hair from his body |

I know what you're both saying, I just disagreed about Brie's comment stating he should of stopped at the pic indicated. |

hèhè nice reading.. But basicly you cannot turn fat into something else, it's nonsense.. you gotta burn it off .. However, I think when you can still reach and aim your pecker and can whipe ur own a@@crack there's nothing to worry about .. |

Always remember that what u eat today, will show on you in about 2months and not immediately.. <-- quoting myself :) Watchout, what Dax said is accurate.. the 2months thing is not a fact, it was more figuratively speaking.. what i meant was that whatever u eat, good or bad takes some time to show on you, and its not immediate .. |

I passed one day without sugar and i'm still alive. :) I was just wondering what could i use to sweeten tea or coffee? I was googling around and i saw that honey can be as harmfull as sugar and the artificial sweeteners aren't ok either. For example you Daxy can i ask you what do you use? |

very intersting topic but have some small remarks Candy said never eat after 6-7 pm, but what about the people who just come home after 7 on very regular basis??? they can't eat anymore??? And second problem for those people, if you come home after 7 and have been up from 6 AM it takes a lot of effort to drag yourself to the gym or even to the pool or anything else. On the other hand, i have the feeling that i'm just loosing weight by a more steady life (eating at same hours) and just being active a lot of hours also has a significant effect (at least compared to my study years = drinking, eating fries, partying and drinking again) Obi |

obi u have to keep in mind that certain things work for some more than others. There are 3 major body types ectomorph : naturally thin mesomorph : naturally muscular endomorph : naturally fat (googled now and found this link) http://bodybuildingpro.com/bodytypeinformation.html very few are in one category, ur nearly always a mixture of 2 to a certain extent, hopefully i am making sense. but as an example, i have always been thin as a teenager and found it hard to gain weight no matter what i ate.. thats why i wanted to start training to add some kilos, although i still consider myself lazy hehe and now i only train when i think i am looking bad and i need to maintain. (yes becuase i am still lazyish) Your work schedual is definetly hard, but what u can do is have a light meal in the evening, or just some salad aand/or fruits). Probably easier said than done, when u come home tired and hungry. but its something u have to try ! You have to give ur stomach at least 4-5 hours to digest the food before u go to bed. Personally i find that pretty important ! And try to calculate how many calories u think ur burning everyday(lots of cal. calculators/books) and how much ur consuming. Then try to burn at least 500 more than u eat everyday.. over a short period of time. Your body will start burning fat. |

Bumping this one :) Got the same problem now...I think I can see my belly growing :P I've tried eating less, but that doesn't help. It leaves me with a feeling of hunger all day. I usually eat this per day: Breakfast: 4 parts bread with jelly, cheese, peanutbutter or something with 2 glasses of milk. Around 10/11 I'm hungry again so I eat some bread, drink something and eat some fruit. Around 12/13 I'm hungry again and I eat I think the same amount of stuff as my breakfast. At 15.30/17.00 I'm very hungry and eat some fruit and a turkish pizza or something like that. Then eat my dinner. Usually a full plate with vegetables, rice, flesh etc. Then around 22.00 my tummy starts making itself heard again and I eat some potato chips, fruit or a pizza. I've tried limiting myself to 3 meals a day, but it just doesn't work. Feeling bad and all. Tried drinking mealshakes for a while, but that doesn't fill me. Want to loose some kilo's, but lazy and unmotivated as I am it's not progressing. Now I"m trying to walk everywhere I go (if possible), but guess that doesn't burn the calories fast enough. Any tips? Thinking about swimming, but can only do that in the morning and beeing an evening person that is not really a succes. Went to the gym a couple of years ago, but that was boring after a while :) |

well i haven't lost any weight or gained any weight. i've tried several things, almost joined a gym but it was in the middle of nowhere. may join a gym near work and lose weight that way. at the same time, i am eating a lot of sugary stuff, but my weight won't go up it's as though i gained ten kilos during my medication state and then my metabolism went back to normal, but i can't lose the extra weight dammit. schiz you eat a lot! |

Eating a lot doesn't nescessarily mean it's bad.. It depends on WHAT you eat.. Actually, it's recommended to eat about 6 times a day.. Because it's better for the stomach to digest every time a little bit instead of a lot at once and then for quite some time nothing again. What you really shouldn't eat is all the fattish stuff.. Like the patato chips, the turkish pizza's. Also consider something else on your bread than cheese.. Cheese can be compared to hamburgers.. It contains loads of fat. Rather eat something lighter.. Like chicken filet or the likes. Eat least stuff that doesn't contain lots of sugar or fat. Also always try to eat brown bread, not only is brown bread more healthy. It will also make you sooner feel more full. Also try to drink lots of water.. It will also give you a more full feeling when you start to become hungry. oh BTW: just dieting is usually not really effective.. Try to do some sports along with it as well to make it really work and burn the stuff you want to burn.. |

^^ Oh, oh, oh, oh ... Wake up people, sit down, relax a little and take a minute to think about what you're actually concerned with. But if you're then still worried about the way you look (u silly ; ) ) just do whatever you feel like doing whenever it comes to you. You're the product of some 2.000.000 years of evolution. You really think going against your body's wishes is good for you ? |

You really think going against your body's wishes is good for you ? Actually I do. Are you telling me people with overweight are more healthy than people doing sports and eating only the things they actually need? |

" Actually I do. Are you telling me people with overweight are more healthy than people doing sports and eating only the things they actually need? " Nope, they didn't listen to their body in the first place. Overweight is almost always caused by eating just for the sake of having something to do while watching tv or a movie, not hunger. It's the second reason why people that stop smoking gain weight : they no longer have a cigarette to fondle with in front of the tv. (the other is of course that food, nicotine, caffeine, cocaine etc. all induce release of the same 'reward' neurotransmitter.) So... replace one addiction with another would help... ^^ |
