I don't know if the situation created today piss you off like it does on me. I know that we leave in the speedy age and i know that people want so much to see a movie immediately as it was launched but people...(and now i would use the pleading "please")...just PLEASE!!!! Why you not ask first that the movie to be added in the data base and then ask for subtitle? It is a simple mind logic exercise....I mean if the movie is in the data base and someone has a sub for it, that someone would upload the sub and that is ok.But if the movie is not in the data base, a person see the request and maybe has the sub but cannot actually upload and i dont know..who would be the one to do this job for you all the time.If you need a sub then do the task till the end. No one is obliged to ask that your movie to be added in data base then wait for that to happen then upload the subs...and also...no one(except the stupid me, of course) would actually search and pick your e-mails and attach the subs and send it to you. I did this for some people here only because i am a NICE person but i won't do it because i will teach you to be lazy and that is not good so...move your thumbs on those little keys from your hand rest cool keyboards and do the task. I made this mistake before too but i won;t make it so i would ask first the movie to be added in data base then ask sub. I did it once but i noticed that people do this "mistake" over and over again and i guess that is really intentional you know. So no offense for people but I think that someone should say it real you know...because if no one says it like this then people would always do same old stuff. And i guess that no one has anything to gain from it or to learn from it. So ...to use what mister Luther used to say ..."I had a dream..that all people should ask first the movie to be add in data base then ask subs" Thank you all...Peace! |

hello.. the reason is simple: people don't bother to read and then don't bother to follow a few simple rules. as regards me, there's np as i will ignore their requests. thanks for your concerning. ciao :) |

Nice. Couldn't have said it better myself, ditto. The problem with a lot of people is mostly one of two things: 1) they're too lazy and think everything should come to them. it's the internet, so I shouldn't have to work (if you can call reading a few lines and making 2 posts "work") for anything. take, take, take, take, take. greediness. 2) they're too ignorant. they see the word "subtitles", they see "post a topic" and they stop thinking from that point on and post a topic without a proper subject, without all the proper info, often without saying "please" and "thanks" and with as little effort as possible. It's annoying, but like Lyliakar says, what can you do besides ignore them?... It's a good thing you stopped emailing subtitles. This is totally against DS policy as well. You are too kind, I would never have bothered. Maybe someday we'll have a sticky in here with rules to point people to. Maybe the SU should write such a topic, even if it can't be made sticky (no stickies on DS was a conscious choice by its creator btw). Thanks for caring and trying to point people in the right direction. I hope many people read it. Cheers! PS. may I suggest you use the Return-key a bit more :-P Creating paragraphs really makes it more readable, especially when the message is as important as I feel this one is.. just a friendly suggestion ;) |

It's possible, and this may be poltically incorrect so stuff you liberal scum, that many who ask for subs dont' have English as their first language, possible second, and since they're a foreign country their educational facility and parents may not have taught them any manners. Now if this board was in, say, Iraq maybe, ignorance like this may have resulted in a lost limb during the era of Goddam Saddam. That would stop them from being so ignorant after. Now I'm not saying let's cut limbs, I am saying kill these bastards. Or at least contact their country to improve educational facilities. |

I agree with all of you. It's very annoying to see posts were people don't care about this forum, but only that they get their sub. Fortunately phaelox is editing those posts now (thanks a lot for that), hoping that people follow his example. And ditto, mailing subs really is to kind :) But sekhu is right. Some people who post here can hardly write English, so they probably don't know our customs either. But I'm hoping for a nice and orderly requesting system in DS4. |

sekhu, that may be true, but if they can read English subs, they can also read a few rules. ignoring them is better than killing them, too much effort :) |

thank you phaelox i just edited it sekhu...I'm not english and probably some more people here are not too.I agree with you regarding the Sadam thing, lol, but manipulation is great so ...anyway, even english people are toooooo lazy to do what i said in my post. Because occidental society is serving them everything in plastic bags and half made. So it is like "someone to do a hotdog please"..or ..."someone to put a chewing gum in my mouth...i had a hard day at work"...or "oh...the coffee is finished? how i wanted to drink one but oh well...if it is not anymore"....and so on. Ok i won't email them anymore...don't shoot the piano player, will you? :) |

sekhu, as lyli says, if they can read english subs, they can bloody well say "please" and "thanks". We're not asking for full-on applications in triplicate with fancy words here... whatever anyone's skills, background, upbringing.. I expect people to read some topics first, as examples, look around to see what's expected and then follow the examples. That is not just common courtesy, it's common sense. Not having common sense means you are plain stupid. Regardless of race, creed, background. It's the same on every damn forum you go to, get with it, you know? Simple fact is, a lot of people seem to forget it's a service that's provided to them by people who do this voluntarily and for fun (except for Lyli, we keep her locked up and make her work 21 hours, 7 days a week). So they think they can demand things, or write one line without reading anything else, and the subtitle will magically appear on their hard drive. ditto makes sense as well. And no worries mate, I never shoot the piano player. :P Sinistral, it's just a small thing I do (the edits), but cheers, nice to hear it's appreciated. One day I was looking at it and thought "what a mess.. how can we do this differently?". You should've seen, and maybe you have, the "Articles - requested" forum... it was packed with subtitle requests. It's just another example of what I said earlier.. people see the word "request" and the link "post a topic" and their brains partially shut down or something, they stop processing information, lol. Anyhoo, I'm curious to see how the new subtitle section/subscene will handle requests, too. :-) |

excuse me master Phaelox, can i take a 1 hour nap pls, i haven't slept for a week now cleaning and dusting this place... while i'm waiting for your merciful reply, i'd like to specify that in any case when subs are requested in my thread i automatically add the missing titles to our DB. as regards the rest, as i've already said, i simply learnt to ignore. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah PEACE........ |

You are guys just too kind and nice and wasting time to respond to every request of that kind. If i were you i only gave a standard response like "Inappropriate request" to each and every one and let the bugger search the right way to ask if he's really interested. You can call me whatever you want... :p :) |
