My pc is constantly running at 100% CPU-usage ... scanned for virusses, trojans, bots ... nothing found. I have two HD's: 1) 80 Gb 7200 rpm and 2) 80 Gb 5400 rpm ... never had probs before. Running XP. What could be the problem ... fragmentation? Thanks EDIT: PROBLEM FIXED |

Does Windows XP even install on 80mb of free space? i think not. Im thinking you means 80GB or something? That shounds more resonable. But i cant help, try re-installing Windows or something. SiMON |

Had the same problem a few weeks ago.... Go to the menu that is displayed when you press CTRL-ALT-DEL and watch which program is taking up all the CPU. The program that I had was something called winnet.exe Search for it and delete it. This should sort out the problem |

You might have a corrupt avi on you're harddisk. Had this once. When i opened a folder with movies. My explorer.exe began to run at 98%. So when deleted some movies ( :( ) everything was ok agian. So maybe you've got a corrupt movie (avi) on you're desktop. Check this. |

I deleted the rar files accidentely and now I can't delete this avi. It says: I must turn off the write protection ... I can't acces the properties of the file ... so don't know how I can change this. |

winXP is really fucked up. i have a similar problem here. in my case i tried to fix some incomplete avi's with divxfix. they can't be removed and when i try to, my explorer sucks 100%. just shutdown explorer and restart it again. and when XP really starts fucking with you, format it and install win2000 again. ACDsee gave me the same problem when i opened an archive of images that seemed to contain corrupted files edit: glad to see it is fixed already. still annoying that i now have to go to dos to remove them. |

I know this problem has been fixed, but anyone else: This has happened to me a few times also........i hover or click on the bad AVI file and Windows Xp jumps to 99%.........anyways, what i have found that usually works is: 1) Restart Windows 2) Go to folder where the AVI is at (DO NOT CLICK OR DO ANYTHING YET ;) 3) Put anyother file, doesnt matter what, in there, and starting with the new file, highlight both files together 4) Quickly DELETE them, send them to the trash bin, if that other file is important to u, u can go to the trash and restore it. 5) Empty trash, if the corrupt AVI file wont delete from Trash, repeat the above steps This works, i use it every time bad AVI's come around |

Yes I have this problem with undeletable files. One way is like said above, delete it and another dummy file you move next to it. Or, I sometimes delete them using FlashXP or Nero burner haha. It does work like a charm too. GH |

You guys are getting these "unable to delete" error messages because Windows has a preview feature. You cannot delete a file that is being previewed at the same time. This was made possible as a convenience. As for me, I turn off the Preview feature. Lisa |
