Well.. While I was browsing the Software section here @ DS I noticed I saw a program called "Ant Movie Catalog".. Since I was still looking for a good program to organise my movie collection I went to the homepage and it seemed to have a lot of features..
I have tried a lot of organising programs.. But this is just the BEST organising program EVER! It has all the features u would ever dream of..

Export to other formats: HTML (based on a template that you can modify or create yourself), SQL commands (to re-import data in a DBMS such as MySQL), CSV (text files, can be used as tables with Microsft Excel for example)

Import from other formats: CSV (Microsoft Excel can create such files, but a plain text file can be used too), Divx Manager, BaseDVDivx

So if u are using one of those other progs.. U can import ur database straight away in there..

I have tested the app this weekend and it's the best of its kind.. It has also a nifty imdb fetcher.. So all info about ur movie will be imported straight away from the IMDB site..

Go visit the homepage and get this prog: http://www.ant.be.tf/moviecatalog

THIS IS NO ADVERTISING BUT RECOMMENDING (it's freeware so..)

Thanks to toasti for adding it in the Software section =)

hehe have been using this since starting my collection anjd indeed it rocks. I believe I got several DS'ers hooked on it already as well.

For an example of the html export  check my list here: http://movies.markb.net

I use template 3 with a slightly modified individual template.

I'm using Movie Collectorz it's also a great program which i would recommend to everyone.
It has approx the same features as the one shown above.

More info see here: http://www.collectorz.com/movie

Another very good movie manager I recommend is DivX Manager:

Has tonnes of options.

I also recommend Ant Movie Catalog, I've been using it for a few months now, the import image feature doesn't work anymore, but I think it's still the best program to use.

I use ant too...
btw. Divxmanager is based on code stolen from an old version of ant (open source stuff) So there probably are some similarities :)

the import image feature doesn't work anymore

Get the new version of Ant.. It's true it can't import the large pics anymore.. But this is because imdb has stopped showing those.. The updated version does download the small pic =)
