Anyone got any ideas or suggestions on what to use under vista? I tried the latest CPU-Z but it wouldn't run under vista, tried compatibility mode but that made no difference. It's reasonably urgent that I be able to find information out such as the mobo, chipset, bios version, cpu  etc

Sisoft Sandra (Lite=freeware) is pretty good for info. Should run under Vista.

I should have mentioned i tried the free trial of sisoft, but it hung on loading so I removed it in the end, not sure why it happened but it did. I used Yamicsoft.Vista.Manager instead which was ok on information, but it wouldn't provide the model of the board but i dont know if any tool or mobo provides that info.

They claim it runs under Vista though.

cpu-z 1.41 should run well under Vista and Vista 64bit too. Hmm.

You have admin rights while installing, right? For running it, too?

yeah I ran the apps as administrator but to no avail. I'll check out the alternatives you've mentioned.
