Hi all,

My nero version 6, gives me an "error write" mesage just after it is about to finish and then it crashes..

why is that?

hmm could be a problem with the drive itself or could be the program

do you get the same error if you try and burn with some other software?

if you do then try giving the drive a clean - if still probs then buy another one!

if not then try re-installing nero

I had that a few times .
Also i couldend find out what the problem was.
Buying a new burner is not the problem solver .
Reinstalling Win should do the trick i think

Upgrade to Nero 7. I haven't had any problems with it so far.

Replace the flatcable with a betterone (shorter or more wires). I had that problem once. Also try other brands of CD's.

I had solw burns with errors and crashes after i flashed my Nec burner..
flashed it back and forth a gazillion times and couldn't solve the problem.

Then i found out that it was running the drivers on PIO
changed it to Ultra DMA as it should be and never had a problem since !

edit: oh yes , just incase ur not sure where to look

go into Device Manager -->click on the atapi IDE and then look in the Primary and secondary IDE channels and check if everything there is "DMA if Available"
