being a necomer and dummy, I have downloaded a film which is "AVI", I have "realOne Player" installed, when I try to play the movie I get "video decompressor required" can anyone enlighten me please?

search in the Divxstation Sofware section for the codecs Divx 5.0 and Xvid if you install those you will probably have picture :)

I'd suggest otherwise duckstrumb:

get the following:

-divx 3.11 alpha codec
-ffdshow
-audiofilters

all which you can find in the software section here.

This way you will be able to play all content at optimal quality,
