Subtitle workshop is THE program to use to synchronise your subs. Nevertheless, many people don't know how to use it. That's why I wrote this article.

It deals with the most frequently dealed problems:

1) adding a delay
2) difference between input FPS and FPS
3) Synchronise subs or better adjust timings
4) Split or join subs

For more advanced users I want to refer to the help file of subtitle workshop.

Hi.

I've been using Subtitle Workshop to create/edit subtitles for some time and find it pretty useful.  However, it suddenly couldn't work.  The only change in my computer configuration is the newly-installed StormCodec 5.  Is that the reason that my Subtitle Workshop failed to work?  I wonder if anyone can give me some help.

After double-clicking the *.srt file, Subtitle Workshop program should be launched with the movie automatically displayed.  Now my Subtitle Workshop simply dislayed the subtitle, but no movie was displayed.  Even if I clicked the [Play/Pause] button on the left, nothing happens: no movie, no sound.  I uninstalled and re-installed Subtitle Workshop, the problem still exists.

What can I do now?

have you tried it without the storm codec installed?

hi deborahsu. Schizo could be right. some codecs don't like subtitleworkshop, not even some xvids, as i've noticed. therefore you should try uninstalling the codec and test the app with the same film.

i have never heard of that codec. however, please notice that codecs can conflict with one another. if that codec isn't strictly necessary to you i suggest that you do without it :)
