Someone hit my bike with their car about a month ago and its caused about 400pounds worth of damage. I got his insurance details but he asked if we could go through cast rather than the insurance and i have lost contact with him. I have his name and area code and i would like to get his address for free (his on the electrol role) does anyone know how please? (he is also on friends reuntied). I phoned my insurance just to claim but they put me on hold for over an hour so i don't feel like doing that again!

well when i need that i usually check the white pages, there's a section where you can input partial data and get addresses and phone numbers, or maybe - as you talked about punds i suppose you're in the UK - you could call your phone company because most likely there's some numbers you can call to get a similar service. however you have to hope that the guy's data aren't kept private and that he gave them his latest address.

in any case if you have his license plate you could directly go to the police, i think.

i would try to get his info through the normal white/yellow pages or whatever and then if i couldn't .. all u need is his number plate and then go to the police.

if you have his license plate, then the police can give you his name and address, like lyliakar said. Here in Belgium, they do charge a small fee for that service.

Ok so I found him. And he said his not going to pay me. then i phoned his insurers and they said where's the proof?. So I phoned my insurance. They said thats common thing to happen when your try and claim directly. The guy has dragged it out to long now, so i am going to court with him. My insurance company is paying for my court costs. Shame I was being nice saying £400 (a friend was doing it on the cheap, and i could live with some of the damage. but now fuck him ' I am claim the full £1000 for my exhaust and another £1500 in trouble caused to me (bus etc...) and on top of thats court cost. So its going to cost him a hell of a lot more.
Now i know where his car is, i feel like smashing his windows.

I learnt to always just phone the police straight after the accident to take statments and go through the insurance!

I don't think i will be so trusting in other road users in the future. (shame he seemed like a really nice guy)
