| How to upload logo's to Nokia phones by RafkeP | 9/12/2002 |
| How to upload logo's to a NOKIA 3210. This guide is written for a Nokia 3210, but that doesn''t mean it can''t be used for other types of Nokia as well. It''s just that the only mobile phone, which supports logos, I own is a 3210, so I am not able to check out the features for other types. There is a lot of software available, but this guide will only explain Logomanager by Mike Bradley since it''s the most user friendly and has a lot of other features. You can get the program here : h**p://www.logomanager.co.uk In order to use the program you will need an F/M-bus cable. You can get those in your local mobile shop. Connect the cable and start LogoManager. If your phone is properly connected you will see "Connected" in the status bar (located in the bottom left corner). In case it says "Not Connected", check your settings under Tools / options from the menubar. If your settings are correct try switching your phone off and back on. Uploading an Operator Logo. Operator logos are displayed when you are logged onto the network. Usually it consists of the name of your mobile operator. Before you open the logo, make sure LogoManager is set to editing operator logos. Press the appropriate button in the task bar. Open the operator logo, you wish to send to the phone, by pressing the Open File button. The operator logo will now be shown in the editor. If you want to make some final modifcations to the logo you can do so by using the tools on the right side. Since the tools are basicly the same as in any other drawing program and the logos are perfect as they are ;o) , I will not go any deeper into this. Press the upload button and the logo will be sent to the phone. If all went well, you will hear the phone beep and the statusbar will display "Logo Sent". A Nokia 3210 can only hold 1 operator logo at a time, so if you want your original logo back you will have to reset it. You can do this by selecting Tools \ Set logo to default from the menubar. The new logo will then be lost. Uploading a Screen Saver Logo or Picture Message. Screen savers and picture messages are bigger than operator logos, so activate the picture message mode by pressing the appropriate button. A Nokia 3210 has 14 default picture messages. If you wish to send another one, you will have to replace 1 of those 14. It might be a good idea to check which picture is stored at which location. To do this press the download button. Enter the number of the location you wish to check and press OK to download the image from the phone. The image will now be shown in the editor. When you found a good location, open the picture message logo you wish to send to the phone by pressing the Open File button. The logo will now be shown in the editor. Press the upload button, Enter the location and press OK to upload the image to the phone. If all went well, you will hear the phone beep and the statusbar will display "Logo Sent". That''s all there is to it. Feel free to experiment with the program''s other features. You will find out it has a lot to offer. This is only the first version of the tutorial. For comments, suggestions and questions send me an IM or post them in the appropriate forum. In future I will try to update it for other types/brands and infra red sending. Enjoy, Rafke P.
